Born on December 14 in the city of Varna, Bulgaria.

1956

Finished high school education at the First Grammar School in Varna.

1956–59

Study at the People's Higher Military Technical School named after V. Kolarov, Gorna Oriakhovitsa.

1959

Graduation from the Technical School with the qualification “aircraft and engine technician” and the military rank first lieutenant.

1959–63

Аircraft technician officer at various Bulgarian Air Force squadrons including Balchik, Tolbukhin (Dobrich) and Ravnets.

1963

Admission as an officer student to the Engineering Faculty of the Military Academy named after G. S. Rakovsky, Sofia in the aircraft and engine engineering major program.

1968

Graduation from the Bulgarian Air Force Academy in Dolna Mitropolia after the full 5-year academic course.

1968–70

Оfficer faculty member in aerodynamics with the Aircraft Design academic department of the Air Force Academy.

1970–73

Regular graduate student at the Aerodynamics Department of the Air Force Engineering Academy named after N. E. Zhukovsky, Moscow, USSR.

1973

Graduation from the Air Force Engineering Academy in Moscow with a master's thesis in aerodynamics. Granted the title “Candidate of Technical Sciences” (Cand. Sc.).

1973–74

Senior officer faculty member in aerodynamics with the Aircraft Design academic department of the Bulgarian Air Force Academy.

1974–80

Founder and head of the Aerodynamics Department of the Air Force Academy.

1975

Assistant Professor of aircraft aerodynamics.

1980–81

Head of the Academic Division of the Bulgarian Air Force Academy.

1981

Doctor's thesis in aerodynamics. Granted the title “Doctor of Technical Sciences” (Ph. D.).

1981–86

Deputy Rector of the Bulgarian Air Force Academy responsible for the teaching and scientific activities. Head of the Scientific and Research Department to the Academy. Founder of the Scientific Council of the Air Force Academy.

1983

Professor of aircraft aerodynamics — first professor of the Bulgarian Air Force Academy.

1986

Director of the Central Space Research Laboratory to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

1987–96

Founder and Director of the Space Research Institute to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Representative of Bulgaria to the Committee on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space of the United Nations (COPUOS-UN).
